Yes, you can! It’s pretty affordable & easy to do! To get married at the Black Church in Iceland you just need to contact the Black Church staff and book your date! It’s pretty affordable and can be even cheaper than taking a wedding officiant somewhere beautiful for a wedding ceremony in Iceland!
How much does the Budir Church wedding cost?
If you’re interested in booking a spot at Hotel Budir or having a Black Church Wedding, we recommend contacting the hotel directly so as not to miss this opportunity. Their staff is known for their excellent service, and they can arrange for the pastor to contact you, set up your date, and discuss your wedding ceremony details.
Renting Búðakirkja in Iceland for a wedding costs between 39,400 ISK (about $310 USD) for one hour and 59,900 ISK (about $470 USD) for three hours. This fee covers the rental of the church or its grounds. There are additional costs for services like a group visit fee and a confirmation fee, but the basic rates are focused on the duration of the church rental. We’ve always been passionate about elopements, which we believe truly reflect the personalities and love between the couple. Iceland, with its stunning landscapes and serene atmosphere, is an ideal destination for such an intimate celebration. Our team was deeply inspired by the love story of Georgia and Max from the UK, whose wedding we had the pleasure of capturing at Snæfellsnes peninsula. Their special day was filled with calm, beauty, warmth, and tenderness, just as their love for each other.
As Iceland elopement photographers, we aimed not only to take beautiful photographs of the couple with the backdrop of Snaefellsnessjokull volcano and its glacier at the top. We always tried to reflect the connection between Georgia & Max.
Also, just look at Georgia’s wedding dress by the famous Grace Loves Lace! She’s looking just stunning! Of course, Max is also not less stylish!
We’re in love with how romantic, touching, and quiet their wedding ceremony was inside the famous little black church.

We had an amazing time walking in the beautiful orange and blown grass, feeding birds, and admiring the absolutely stunning views at Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellfoss.
Explore the famous remote Beaches
The lava tubes and black pebble beaches are some of the most fascinating things to see on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. You can walk into caves, take a tour through the truly unique formations, and explore the rugged coastline and incredible viewpoints by the ocean, as we did with Georgia & Max.
Visit the Snaefellsjokull volcano
Once having a wedding at Budir, you don’t want to miss some pretty epic views for your wedding portraits which Snæfellsjökull Volcano can deliver. Just look at this snow-capped mountain covered with the clouds!
