Akureyri Summer Wedding | Erika + Jared
Welcome to the gorgeous & incredible northern Iceland!
We’re deeply in love with the north of Iceland and the Akureyri region! Although this part of Iceland is comparably not popular for tourism, because it’s comparably far to drive from Reynikavik and the most touristy – south of Iceland. The highland road, leading to the north passes through the highlands and the center of Iceland which is often covered with snow and has difficult driving conditions even in May or June! Pro tip for safe driving in Iceland – always check SAFETRAVEL.IS, where you can find all the information needed!
Despite all said above, we always support the idea of having a wedding there, because you can spend your whole wedding day in complete privacy, meeting only birds and sheep! just like it was at this wedding. It was very special for us in all kinds: it was a super warm day, full of sun, and the whole surroundings were in full bloom, looking so untouched like Tolkien’s Shire.
Erika and Jared had a very cozy getting ready, afterwards, we hiked up for 1.5 hours to the mountain lake for an evening Iceland elopement ceremony (yes, everyone including guests!).
