Maggie + Kevin’s Epic Sunset Elopement at Cadini di Misurina
In September 2016 we had a chance to travel to one of the most miraculous parts of Italy called the Dolomites. Roadtripping the Italian Alps mountain peaks has become an amazing family tradition for us. Since then we’ve road-tripped the Italian Dolomites far and wide, which gave us a unique knowledge of the Italian Alps. So, once we met these two beautiful humans – we were more than happy to show them one of our absolute favorite places called Cadini di Midsurina (or “Mountains of Mordor” as local Italians call this magnificent mountain range view). They came from Singapore and invited us to be their elopement photographers in the Italian Dolomites and witness their unique elopement day. And it was truly epic!
Hiking Elopement at Cadini di Misurina
To reach Cadini di Misurina trailhead, we first drove up to Rifugio Auronzo parking. The fee to get to the National Park by car is 30 Euro (per car). However, it’s absolutely worth it, as it’s the most simple and comfortable way to get there with almost no hiking needed. From Rifugio Auronzo, there is around a 30-45 minute lite to moderate hike to the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint.
The loop trail is a great spot for a half-day hiking sunrise or sunset elopement at Cadini di Misurina, taking approximately 4 hours (including time for the photography itself) to complete. There will be enough time for a relaxed hike and beautiful portraits with the jaw-dropping backdrop. And on top of it, the hike is pretty easy to accomplish, even in an elopement dress and suit!
Dolomites Italy Elopement at Cadini di Misurina
This part of the Dolomites is our favorite because you can take a hike and find a lot of spots with a stunning 360° panoramic view. And you know what? That evening and sunset were an absolute blast. We really prefer sunset elopement ceremonies to sunrise ones, just because Our favorite light of the day is one, which is after the sun hides completely. Professionals call it a blue hour. Time, when magic happens and incredible cinematic elopement photographs are made.
Just look at the elopement photos we’ve managed to take for Maggie & Kevin – they were truly the stars of that night shining so bright in the Dolomites Mountains and ridges!
Epic Sunset Photos at Cadini di Misurina Viewpoint
We didn’t want M&K to feel stressed and under pressure to memorize any sketchy poses while shooting these epic-scale photos from a long distance, so we invented our secret method to stay always connected with our couples and not yell and scream from the big distance. As you see – they nailed everything!
In 2023, the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint’s popularity truly exploded, but you don’t need to worry – it’s still possible to have some epic photos like the ones below with almost no one around. We’ll guide you and help you with timing and other advice, ensuring your elopement at Cadini di Misurina is intimate and secluded.
