Intimate Wedding in Norway at Juvet Landscape Hotel

As a Norway elopement photographer and videographer duo, we love capturing stories like Jamie & Nick’s at Juvet Landscape Hotel. Being a super creative couple working in the movie industry (yeah, Hollywood!), Nick and Jamie obviously wanted a one-of-a-kind destination wedding, not “just a day.” They dreamed up a week of shared memories with their closest family – an adventure that would feel worth crossing oceans for. When they discovered Juvet Landscape Hotel (yes, while watching Succession), everything clicked: raw Nordic nature framed by architecture that disappears into it. It was beautiful enough to need nothing added—just the two of them, their people, and the landscape.
They invited 18 family members to fly 11+ hours to Norway – a leap of faith that paid off at every turn: art nouveau streets of fairytale-like Ålesund, fjords unfolding on the drive to Valldal valley, and a hotel built to let the river and forest steal the show.
WHY Nick and Jamie Chose NORWAY FOR Their destination WEDDING
Jamie + Nick chose Norway for their destination wedding, as it’s so beautiful that it didn’t need any “wedding décor.” It was a week that felt like a shared discovery for everyone invited. And somehow, with the perfect weather, the kindest people, and meals that became memories, their wedding in Norway became one of the highlights of their families and friends.
From a Sunny Riverside Ceremony and Stunning Sunset Portraits in the Mountains of Valldal, to A Cinematic Reception Dinner at Juvet Hotel, this is the way to Elope in Norway
The night before: An Incredible Sky Show
On the eve of the wedding, everyone stepped out from dinner and looked up. The Northern Lights waved across the sky – unexpected this far south and this early in the season. There was hooting, laughing, and a whole family standing in wet grass in perfect silence. What a fantastic wedding activity you can only pay to have during your special day, right?!
The morning: Intimate and Simple
Jamie and Nick kept the aesthetic clean and timeless to let the place lead. While they got ready in separate rooms, the hotel’s coordinator, Trude, led a morning nature walk. Guests gathered wildflowers around the property; later, the florists from Blomstrende wove those stems into two planters placed behind the couple at the ceremony—a quiet gesture that made everyone feel part of the moment.
THE RIVERSIDE CEREMONY AT JUVET HOTEL – A UNIQUE NORWAY WEDDING VENUE
The river hummed. Glass, wood, and moss became a soft cathedral. With family gathered close, Jamie and Nick exchanged vows framed by the planters they’d built together that morning—handpicked color from the forest itself. It was intimate, honest, and beautifully unrushed.
ADVENTURE WEDDING PORTRAITS at TROLLSTIGEN in Norway
After family photos on the Juvet grounds, we slipped away with the couple for portraits in the surrounding Valldal valley. We arrived in the area well befroe the day and scouted all the locations thoroughly. This is why even with a tighter-than-usual itinerary, we could move efficiently between the portrait spots and chase the best light. We were happy to use our drone to capture some epic, breathtaking scenery of Valldal and Trollstigen, and the couple framed in iconic Scandinavian landscapes.
The Reception dinner that felt like a movie
If the ceremony was quiet, dinner was a glow. Blomstrende created a romantic table of flowers and hanging stems; Juvet’s kitchen did the rest—course after thoughtful course. Cocktails flowed, the laughter got louder, and stories braided the two families together. “It felt like we were in a movie,” Jamie told us later—and it really did.
Kind Words From Jamie & Nick
“We loved having you there. You were kind, easy to work with, and the prep work you did ahead of time to scout locations made it so easy for us and maximized the time we had to take our wedding portraits (which I know was a bit less time than you normally have). The photos you delivered were so stunning. We have heard from family and friends that they couldn’t believe how incredible the pictures turned out and that they truly belong in a magazine. We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Jane & Tony”

TIPS FOR COUPLES PLANNING AN INTIMATE WEDDING OR ELOPEMENT IN NORWAY
- Plan for at least a week. Let the destination be part of your Norway wedding experience (especially since you’re inviting everyone from abroad)! Plan a welcome dinner at the town everyone is flying in, book a relaxed scenic drive with a couple of stops for a coffee and some fantastic photos, and unstructured time to just be together with your closest people.
- Let the place lead. Choose your wedding location so picturesque and strong that you don’t need to add much (bonus tip to minimize wedding decor expenses); keep details intentional and personal.
- Choose your favourite time to elope in Norway. If you want ot reallty enjoy your Norway elopement experience, it’s pretty crucial to choose the time that is right for you. We recommend August and September as the best time to elope or get married in Norway. Tourists come back home, prices drop, and you can have super intimate moments with no one around!
- Build a clear wedding timeline. A great itinerary is a key to a stress-free wedding day. We’ll help you create a perfect wedding timeline, as we’ve been to Norway many times and have a ton of experience, being experienced destination wedding photographers in Norway.
- Give your wedding portraits some space. Two hours is a good optimum of time needed to (including a drive or/and a hike) keeps the experience calm and the light on your side.
- Trust the team. With remote venues, rely on local partners, scouting, and a flexible plan. The “unknowns” often make the magic.
How Much Does a Micro Wedding at Juvet Landscape Hotel Cost?
A micro wedding at Juvet Landscape Hotel for about 20 people usually means reserving the entire property for two nights. With all 10 rooms and cabins booked, plus two communal dinners and daily breakfasts, most couples spend between NOK 141,000 and 216,000 (€12,000–18,500). This range covers lodging of 20 wedding participants for 2 nights, breakfast and a celebration dinner, and a modest bar budget, along with Juvet’s event fee for private use of the grounds. Extras such as transport, décor, or an officiant would come on top, but the result is a fully private wedding weekend at the most unique wedding venue in Norway.
