Tre Cime di Lavaredo Elopement in Italy | Molly + Chris

Adventurous Tre Cime di Lavaredo Elopement
A Tre Cime di Lavaredo elopement is the kind of experience that feels intimate, adventurous, and wildly beautiful all at once. For Molly and Chris, their day in the Dolomites was filled with slow and meaningful moments, an emotional vow ceremony high in the mountains, and a glowing sunset that made the whole landscape feel unreal. If you are wondering what it is really like to elope at Tre Cime di Lavaredo, this story can be the perfect inspiration.
The Couple and Their Decision to Plan A Tre Cime di Lavaredo Elopement
Molly and Chris came to Italy from the beautiful state of Oregon, USA. They contacted us with the question of whether we could be their elopement photographers and, of course, help them plan their dream elopement in the Dolomites.
As I revisited this elopement to upload it to the blog, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the stunning photos all over again. That beautiful autumn day in the mountains has made it one of my all-time favorites: it was unusually warm (for October) and comfortable to hike, even in a full-length elopement dress! At the end of the day, we were presented with the most eternally gorgeous sunset we’ve ever seen in the mountains!
Molly reached out to us to create something special for her and her fiancé, Chris. They always dreamed of telling their private vows standing at the top of the mountain with stunning views of the Dolomites. That’s why we chose Tre Cime di Lavaredo as their adventure elopement location and began planning their timeline of the day. We wanted to escape crowds since October is still a pretty popular month of the year for Tre Cime di Lavaredo, so, we got them married on a Monday!

From relaxed getting ready at Cortina d’Ampezzo To a Sunset Vow Ceremony
High in the mountains, this Is How To Plan Your Adventure Elopement
On the morning of M&C elopement, we all woke up pretty late – having a later start to catch the best light of the day at the sunset was a really great idea for a bright and sunny day that we had. Molly & Chris were very calm and comfortable getting ready at Faloria Hotel at Cortina d’Ampezzo. Looking at them preparing for the day, rewriting their vows to their books, and checking all the tiny details and things that matter was very simple and beautiful, so we couldn’t stop gasping!
Getting to Tre Cime di Lavaredo to Elope
The most straightforward way to get to Tre Cime di Lavaredo is by driving straight to the Rifugio Auronzo parking lot. The admission fee to get to the serpentine road leading to the parking is 40 Euros per car (price updated for 2025). Trust us, it’s totally worth every cent! No hiking required! From the Rifugio Auronzo parking, you’re getting the full and easy access to several stunning viewpoints with a jaw-dropping 360-degree mountain view.
*Update 2025 – From June 2025, you have to book the parking admission in advance at the Rifugio Auronzo parking portal. If you want to have the easiest and least challenging access to Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime, we recommend booking your parking spot at least 3-4 days in advance!
Epic Elopement Ceremony at Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Afterward, we made our way to the mountains for one of the most touching and beautiful vow ceremonies we’ve ever seen. Molly’s brother officiated, and Molly and Chris were laughing, crying, and completely immersed in the moment, filled with gratitude for each other’s commitment. It was an intimate and incredible ceremony, made even more special by the breathtaking view of Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
The four of us stayed up there until it got pretty dark, even after the blue hour had passed. We were treated to a stunning sunset, with the sky glowing in a mix of beautiful colors. They were especially excited to end the evening with the lanterns, which turned out to be so much fun for them.
At the end of their incredible elopement in Italy, Molly and Chris were all smiles, clearly having the time of their lives, and we were just so happy to have been a part of creating that moment for them!
Local Dolomites Elopement Photographer Tip When Eloping at Tre Cime
One thing many couples do not realize when planning a Tre Cime di Lavaredo elopement is that the weather in the Dolomites can change very quickly. A sunny and clear forecast can shift into fog, wind, or rain much faster than expected, especially in the mountains. That is why it is so important to work closely with your elopement photographer and build some flexibility into your timeline. Sometimes the most unforgettable moments happen in conditions you did not originally plan for, and having space to adapt can make the whole experience feel much less stressful and much more magical.
