We were lucky to shoot this adventurous engagement photoshoot of Ingi & Margrett, a local Icelandic couple from Reykjavik. Like many Icelanders, they’re obsessed with the incredible and unique nature of Iceland and are starving for an adventure. This is why we proposed to create not only beautiful Iceland proposal photographs for their long memories but also to make a true adventure of this. The Couple and Their Plan to have AN Iceland Engagement and Proposal PhotoShoot

Since it was only the beginning of May, it was quite difficult to predict the weather in Iceland, which is why to increase our chance of the best weather possible we all decided to plan the shoot in the southern region of Iceland.

*Pro Tip – From my 12 years of Iceland photography career, the area around the tiny town of Vík (one of the most southern parts of Iceland) is where there’s the mildest weather with almost no snow and wind. So to get the most predictable and warmer weather – plan your Iceland proposal or engagement photoshoot to make no mistake!

We landed on planning the first part of their engagement photoshoot right behind Vik at an absolutely stunning black sand beach, which is home to a stunning Yoda Cave with its endless black desert. Worth keeping in mind is that this location is only reachable with a 4×4 wheel drive vehicle! It also goes without saying that offroad driving is strictly forbidden in Iceland, and you need to be careful driving in the area and follow the signs.
We had an amazing time in the area, drinking coffee, climbing up the classic Defender, and, of course capturing loads of luv between Ingi and Margret.

The second location where we all headed was a small secret waterfall called Kvernufoss, which is at the end of a moss-covered green canyon.
